Some flavours can’t be described. They have to be experienced.
Every autumn, in the first days of the harvest, something happens that few people ever get to see up close. The oil runs from the mill a vivid green, still cloudy. Its scent fills the room: freshly cut grass, green tomato, olive leaf. And when you taste it, there’s that peppery tickle at the back of your throat that makes you cough and smile at the same time.
That moment usually stays in Messinia. This year, we’re bringing it to Vienna.
Just eight days old!
This Friday, Saturday and Sunday, we’ll be at Genusswelten in Palais Auersperg, pouring our new-harvest olive oil, just eight days off the press.
Eight days. This oil hasn’t had time to sit on a shelf or in a warehouse. Its aromas, its bitterness and its peppery finish are at their most alive, exactly as we know them at the mill. It may well be the freshest olive oil you’ll ever taste.
This year we started harvesting earlier than ever before. It was a deliberate choice: we wanted to see how far an early-harvest Koroneiki oil can go. We’d love to find out together with you.
Three olive oils, three personalities
On Sunday, Aγgelos will lead a guided olive oil tasting. We’ll taste three oils with different aromatic profiles and intensities, and explore together the flavours, textures and little surprises that make each one unique.
You don’t need to know anything about olive oil. Just bring a bit of curiosity. In the end, we only want to know one thing: which of the three will win you over?
